The Last Story OP & ED Theme Single CD was released in Japan on ​August 03, 2005 by KING RECORDS via their Star Child label for ￥1,000. This CD was released for XEBEC's TV anime series that would start airing in January of the same year.

The CD is part of a collection that is focused on the final opening and ending theme songs of XEBEC's TV anime series, these songs being, Happy☆Material and To the Shining You ~ Peace. These versions were the theme songs for the 26th and final episode of the series and differ from the versions used in previous episodes, such as composition, vocals, and an extended version for the ending theme. In addition to the theme songs, this CD also features three vocal tracks. The the vocal and instrumental version of the ending song is included on the disc.


Item Details:
    All songs were performed by the voice actresses for all 31 students in class 2-A. The lyrics of Happy☆Material​ were written by Uran, the composition was by Shigenobu Okawa, the arrangement by Kaoru Okubo. The lyrics of To the Shining You ~ Peace​ were written by Yuka Numadate, the composition was by Hideaki Kuwahara, the arrangement by Shinkichi Mitsumune.

    The art featured on the cover of Negima's CD releases are unique and are not reused from other materials. This release features art of characters in the same art-style as the TV series.

    The Pactio Card released with this CD is not an exact replica of what appears in the series, notably as the backside is unique. This series of cards were released with various pieces of media, exclusively with the CD and DVD releases. All the students of Negi's class had a card. This card is made of a thin paper material and measures approximately 11.5 x 6.4 centimeters. There are higher quality cards that act as faithful replicas, but this is not one of those.
