Anime series covers the first 6 volumes of Negima's manga. The anime takes a major turn in the Kyoto arc, covered in volumes 4-6 in the manga. Certain plot devices are either changed or removed completely, some major examples being the removal of Setsuna's reveal of being a hanyo and changing the original pactio, the removal of the character Kotaro, and changing Konoka's pactio with Negi to Setsuna instead.
