We have another supply of great work this week, featuring many of the members of Ala Alba. With how many characters are in the series, it always makes for a great diversity.

Negima News: Negima Volumes 13 & 14 Re-release Covers Revealed!
Energetic Yuuna and Normal-Girl Natsumi grace the two new covers this month! Do you find these two a surprise addition?
These volumes will be released June 9th!
There's not many more new covers coming out, so it's hard to say which pair will be featured next. I for one always welcome seeing the Negima girls in the new style!

Fanfiction: This isn't Harry Potter

There's a lot of great content here, so be sure to give them a read! You can always leave a review on fanfiction.net, linked in each story.

Fanart: April Showers Brings May Fanart
It's a new week and we have new fanart!
There's a lot of great work out there and we have plenty in reserve, at least for awhile! If you've made art, fanfics, wrote a theory, etc., consider submitting it and have your work featured here!
While we try to balance how many of each character we feature every week, it's easy to see who the fan favorites are. We've noticed a lack of art of such characters like Takamichi T. Takahata. If you want to try your hand at some of the more minor or obscure characters, we'd love to see it!

Merchandise News: Negima Blu-ray BOX I Designs and Contents Revealed

Additional info regarding the BOX I of Negima's blu-ray release was revealed earlier today. We did a cover of these box sets before.
If you recall, BOX I contains the first anime series and CD's with songs pertaining to it.
The images show the brand new artwork featured on the box and CD jacket.
The booklet is fully colored, gives a brief description about each episode and contains an interview with Ken Akamatsu, Rina Sato and Ayami Kanda (the voice actesses of Negi Springfield and Asuna Kagurazaka), and an interview with the voice actress of Konoka Konoe, Ai Nonaka.
What's interesting is that though the cards were considered a reprint of the gold foil cards released before, the image instead shows cards lacking the actual gold foil design. Whether this changes in the future is up in the air.
The three CD's contain 39 song sand feature remastered songs, both from the original anime and the first set of character songs.

UQ Holder News: Censorship? Is Germany Getting an Alternate Cover?
Volume 13 of UQ Holder was only released a month ago, its cover featuring a nude Evangeline. Of course, this sort of ecchi image is nothing new for the series, but when it is featured on the outside of the book, it is an entirely different story.

What's interesting is just how different these covers are. So far, they've represented what was happening in the volume, but it seemed like the idea was abandoned and instead opted to go with a previous plot-line.
Negima are not estranged to censorship, as seen by the censored covers for the standard and limited edition releases, so it's not absurd to think they'd make a change. It's a strange choice to simply go with a completely different design rather than adding clothes to the naked character. What's interesting is that this "new" cover is actually the backside of Vol. 10's, but the design is not yet finalized and may change in the future.
Another interesting point is just how early they managed to nip this in the bud. Volume 10 hasn't even been released and this particular volume isn't due to release until March, 2018 in Germany, so it may have been obvious from the start that this cover would have issues outside Japan. There's definitely a chance this change won't just be limited to Germany either.

Fanart: The Best Time to Look at Some Fanart is All the Time!
That's right! We got more fanart!
I've noticed that there is no end to the KonoSetsu pieces out there, quite fitting for the year of 2017. I'm sure with the year not even half over, there'll be plenty more by the end.
We've decided to update fanworks once a week and we are going to try to space out the artists work, so if you don't see your work now, look for it in the coming weeks! Remember, you can check out all these pieces and the past ones on the Fanworks page!

Negima News: Negima! Anime Blu-ray Box Set Announced. Gold Foil Pactio Card Reprints!
It was announced earlier today that Negima’s anime was slated for a blu-ray release in June (in Japan) in celebration of the UQ Holder anime release later in the year. This means the entirety of the anime that was released. The complete set will be separated into three volumes, the first being the original Negima! anime, the second box being Negima!?, and the third by the collection of OAD’s, which were previously released in a blu-ray box set.
The full set will include a CD set containing relevant songs to the series, such as the famous “Happy ☆ Material”. The box and CD sleeve will feature art, presumably featuring Ken’s new art style. Also included is a booklet containing new interviews and more. Lastly, the popular gold foil pactio cards that were previously released with Negima’s vol. 37 manga will be making a reappearance as a reprint and will be separated into the three volumes! Buying all the volumes will earn you an additional bonus item!

Wow, they’re doing quite a bit to lead up to UQ Holder’s animated release, aren’t they? I know Negima’s anime wasn’t terribly popular among fans, but are you looking forward to this blu-ray box set release, even if it’s for the sake of the goodies it’s bundled with?

Negima News: Volume 11 & 12 Covers of Negima’s Manga Re-release Revealed!
Today, Ako and Akira were revealed to be the feature of volume 11 & 12′s covers for the series of re-releases for Negima’s manga. It seems that these are being released in pairs approximately once each month.
These volumes are set to release on May 9th.
If I recall correctly, there’s only supposed to be a set number of these, so it we may only get these new covers for a few more months, but it’s definitely interesting to see a colored version of the Negima cast in this new art style.

UQ Holder News: UQ Holder OAD Info Released
Volume 13 of UQ Holder was released earlier today in Japan and it contained some interesting info about the anticipated OAD leading up to UQ Holder's anime release. The limited edition set of Vol. 14 will include an OAD containing events that will not be present in the anime series airing in October.
This includes the scenes where Touta first meets Kitty, the Yukihime in her pre-Negima years. In addition, there will be a bath scene on the DVD, featuring Kuromaru, Kirie, and Karin at the Senkyoken Inn.
Volume 14 of UQ Holder will be released in Japan on September 8th later this year.

What’s interesting is this light cover is contrasts volume 12′s, which is quite dark, really emphasizing the “dark” and “light” side. It’s an interesting detail to include!

Negima News: Negima! Manga Re-releases Vol. 9 & 10 Covers Revealed
Many of the volumes from the Negima manga are getting re-releases featuring brand new covers with the new UQ Holder art style. Today, covers for volumes 9 & 10 were revealed and featured the martial artists Chao Lingshin and Ku Fei.
These books are going to be released on April 7th.

UQ Holder News: UQ Holder Studio Announced! Art, Cast, Broadcast Info, OAD Revealed!
Early promotional art for UQ Holder's anime was released today in celebration of creator Ken Akamatsu Exhibition currently taking place in Japan.
In addition, it was announced J. C. Staff, the studio behind shows such as Honey and Clover, Ghost Hunt, Toradora, Little Busters, and Food Wars, would also be the ones in charge of UQ Holder's anime. The show is set to broadcast in October of this year.

Negima News: Mahou Sensei Negima! is Getting a New Chapter!
You heard that right! After nearly five years since Negima came to a sad end, it was announced that Negima! is getting an additional chapter come March 15th, 2017 in Weekly Shōnen Magazine Vol. 15. School Rumble is also receiving an additional chapter in the same volume!
It’s a one-shot story, but it’s definitely cool to see the series make a return outside of UQ Holder.

Negima News: Negima! Manga Re-releases Vol. 7 & 8 Covers Revealed
Ken Akamatsu announced a little awhile ago that many of the volumes from the Negima manga were going to get re-releases featuring brand new covers with the new UQ Holder art style. They just released the new covers to volumes 7 and 8, featuring Ayaka and Chisame.
Volumes 9 & 10 are next, so we'll feature those as soon as they're released!
