UQ Holder! took the front cover of the August 2018 issue Bessatsu Shonen Magazine, featuring brand new colored character art of Touta and Evangeline. While this itself is pretty neat, this issue also includes various series-related bonuses.
Included is a handout about the Negima stage-play and two slip-covers for UQ Holder volumes 15 and 17. The latter features another alternative cover of Evangeline wearing a bikini on a beach setting, but it's still quite similar to the original art. Volume 15 cover is a bit more interesting. Creator of the series, Ken Akamatsu, had previously spoke on Twitter about volume 15 of UQ Holder and had said it was practically the true final volume to Negima, as it wrapped up various major plot points. Because of this, the other slip-cover features a Negima-styled cover, also bearing the matching logo and volume number of 39.
Of course, these are purely cosmetic and offer no new content, but they're pretty neat nonetheless!
The magazine has already been released, so if you want to add these to your collection, be sure to snag a copy! CDJapan currently has it in stock for 574 yen, but be sure to look around and see if you can find it for cheaper! Do keep in mind, this is Japan only, so these slip-covers won’t fit over books for most regions.
