Ken Akamatsu appeared as a guest at the Manga Comic-Convention in Germany in 2016. There, he participated in a Q&A and live-drew the cover to UQ Holder Volume 9.

This was done alongside a sweepstake of signed volumes of Love Hina and a UQ Holder portrait.
