Merchandise News: Kujibikido is Releasing New Merch via Raffle!

Picture
More Negima merchandise in 2025? It is true! Kujibikido, a company known for releasing unique merch via an online raffle/lottery format has announced they will be releasing a line of merch for Negima. This essentially functions as online lottery by purchasing a ticket online. There are several types of prizes, organized by tiers. Each tier will have a different percentage of winners with the rarer tiers having better quality items. Every ticket is a winner, but what type of prize you get is up to luck. Winners can choose which item in the tier they would prefer.

The prize tiers are listed below.

Picture
S-Tier offers two different oversized fabric posters, each measuring approximately 112cm in length and 70cm in height. The designs of these are the full clean artwork from volumes two and five respectively. These are the rarest of the bunch with only a 1% chance of winning.

Picture
A-Tier offers 8 different designs of A3-sized clear posters. The designs are based on the artwork featured on the backsides of select volumes of the manga. There will only 6% to win one of these.

Picture
B-Tier offers nine different designs of acrylic keychains. They are approximately 6 x 6 centimeters and height and length. The character artwork is also from the backsides of select manga volumes. Ticker purchasers will have a 13% chance to claim their favorite.

Picture
Tier-C offers more prizes with art from the manga backsides. These are small art prints measuring 13.5cm in length and 12cm in width. There are 23 cards to collect. There is a 30% of walking away with one of these.

Picture
Tier-D mixes it up a bit with a collection of can badges with various shot of panels of the manga emphasizing a particular selection of characters. These are 7.5cm in diameter and are the most common prize with a whopping 50% chance of redeeming one of these. There are 18 designs in total.

Picture
Not only are there prizes in the tiers above, but there is an opportunity to receive a free bonus item! For each purchase a 10-pack set of tickets, the buyer will receive one of five different art prints as seen in the first image above. Unlike the tiered prizes however, these designs will be distributed randomly.

Another bonus will also be made available for a limited time. Those purchasing the 10-pack set of tickets between March 6 through the 11th will receive an additional art print, featuring the full clean artwork from volume 37 of the manga. This is in addition to the normal purchase bonus print.

Each ticket costs ¥770 and unfortunately, this lottery is limited solely to Japan. Like last time, these items are bound to show up on auction sites after their release. This lottery starts March 6 and lasts through April 3, 2025, with items expected to ship out late June to late July. You can find the Negima Kujibikido campaign page here!

It really is nice seeing more Negima merch being pumped out all these years later, through it is unfortunate the majority of us will have a harder time procuring these goods. What do you think? Is there anything here you will be on the lookout for later this year? Just let us know your thoughts in the comments and let us hope for future Negima announcements!

Negima News: Negima! Magister Negi Magi: Mahora Panic Gacha Game!

Negima! Magister Negi Magi Mahora Panic is a brand new Negima-themed gacha game released by G123, a company known for releasing similar game with other popular franchises. This was announced a few months ago, but the game is now live and in several languages! This is a browser game that can be played on PC, and select Apple and Android products.

The game is free with in-app purchases and has several timed events and character pulls. The game has notable positives, including brand new art not only of the main cast, but minor supporting characters, a place for fans around the globe to socialize and play together, and bringing attention to a series that ended over a decade ago.

However, there are some issues we feel we need to address before we encourage you to play this game. As mentioned before, this is a freenium game, so while it is free to play, is heavily encourages purchases with very real currency to not only progress smoothly, but to also not miss out on timed rare character drops, as well as frequent pop-ups and level rankings. You will find yourself hitting walls in progression without sinking real money in to speed things up and while there are some purchases for below $5 USD, others are over $100. So before trying it yourself, please take note, if you feel you are susceptible to overspending and/or gambling, please consider if you want to invest in this game. While gacha games are not legally considered to be gambling in many countries, there are still studies being conducted and it is best to be safe and consider the risks.

Keep in mind, this game is a live service and when the servers shut down, you will not keep anything spent with real currency. If you are interested in the story or gameplay, it is admittedly bleak on that front. Strategy does play a key, but at the end of the day, this is an idle game and as for story, there really is not one. If you are playing in English, what story there is, unfortunately, is poorly translated.

We understand we went over several issues with the game, but we genuinely are happy to see the franchise is not dead and it has brought a resurgence to the franchise! It is exciting to see a brand new game in 2025, but at the end of the day, you are more important than a game, so do what is best for you!

We will be posting art and other assets from the game in its own section on the site in the near future. If you would like to see gameplay of the first full chapter of the game, you can check out our video here. There is an official Discord server for talking with other fans, discussing the game, and reporting bugs. That server invite can be found here. We also have a channel for game discussion in our own Discord. If you have questions about the game, you can ask on either server!

The link to the English version of the game can be found here!

Keep in mind, you need to choose a server wisely! If your friends are playing in a different server than you, you will need to reset your progress as your data is stored on the individual server!

Have you played the game? What are your thoughts on it? Let us know in the comments! There are a lot of opinions about the game, but it is nice to have Negima news to share in 2025!

Lucky winners will receive exclusive merchandise for the series. Some of the items are more common wins than others, just as a normal lottery operates. The prize tiers are listed below.

Picture
A-tier offers two different die-cut acrylic boards. These are the rarest prizes, with a 2/100 chance to claim them. Oh, and in addition, both versions are signed by the author of the manga, Ken Akamatsu, so no doubt, these are the most coveted items in this promotion.

Picture
Four different canvas boards are the prizes of B-tier. Each features different colored art from the manga. There's a 6/100 chance of winning one of these.

Picture
Face towels are pretty popular items in Japan, so it is no surprise to see them as a prize for C-tier. The art on the towels are taken from the covers of the most recent releases of Negima's manga a few years ago. There are six designs in all with a 12/100 chance of receiving one.

Picture
Let's hope the odds are in your favor if you hope to win your favorite character from the D-tier. Negi and all his students are available as acrylic stands, making 32 total types of prizes. Interestingly, the art for these are taken from the character profiles from the manga. There is a 30/100 chance to win one.

Picture
Can badges are not usually the most coveted, but who wouldn't want a Negima one? Well, you can win one in E-tier, with 32 different options! The character art is the same from D-tier and there is a 50/100 chance to win one of these, so the odds are in your favor.

Picture

Negima News: Asuna Appears in Rent-A-Girlfriend Mobile Game Cross-Over!

It was announced, a few days ago, that the manga series, Rent-A-Girlfriend, would soon be seeing its own mobile game, titled, Kanojo, Okarishimasu Heroine All-Stars and will be developed by Enish. The series is printed in Weekly Shonen Magazine and it seems that many of the iconic heroines from other series printed in the magazine will appear in the game as a cross-over. These girls range from manga that are still being printed to this day to ones that have ended almost a decade before.

Interesting to note is the inclusion of Asuna Kagurazaka. Negima's manga ended in 2012 and it seems to be the oldest series included in the game. It also seems like the characters are represented by their anime series, so Asuna is featured alongside the Negima Anime FINAL film.
Picture
The game will be fully voiced and Akemi Kanda will be reprising her role as Asuna. There are many specifics that yet yet to be revealed, such as what exactly the gameplay will be like, but we will be sure to update when more news is dropped. The game is set to be released in September of this year. You can view the game's Twitter account here and its website here.

There is a bit of speculation about whether this promotion may mean we will see more Negima news in the future, but due to the fact there are other characters with series that have long since ended, we do not believe there is any hard evidence to say one way or another, but nothing is off the table. Even if this leads to nothing, it is still nice to see new Negima content in any media.

We will be making a page on our site for the game in the near future, so please look forward to it! What do you think of this cross-over? Do you plan on playing it? Do you think this may point to Negima receiving some sort of update in the future? Be sure to let us know in the comments below!

Negima News: Featured on Sentai's Halloween Scavenger Hunt!

Picture
A couple days ago, Sentai Filmworks, the English publisher of both Negima and UQ Holder, announced a Halloween-themed scavenger hunt. HIDIVE was also participating in the event. To play, a person would be given a hint to specify a specific anime and would need to look through Sentai and HIDVE's websites to find the title in question. Answering 8 clues would result in being able to enter your email into a giveaway for prizes and each answer would award downloadable wallpapers.

What's interesting is this clue:
Picture
It looks like Negima was featured among the scavenger hunt, with a dad-pun to kill all dad-puns. It was pretty neat to come across! (By the way, the answer to the clue definitely may or may not be the Negima! + Negima!? Complete Collection..)

Good luck if you choose to participate!

Merchandise News: Sentai Filmworks to Release Complete Negima Collection

Sentai Filmworks recently announced their newest line-up of anime soon to hit their store and surprisingly, Negima was on this list. That's 54 episodes in total.

It is set to release October 20, 2020 for the retail price of $129.98, though the pre-order price seems to be $84.99.

This is a bit surprising to see, but a welcomed sight. You can pre-order now on Sentai's website. If you have yet to pick up and series and have been wanting to, this might interest you!

What do you think of this collection? Are you planning on picking it up? Let us know!

Merchandise News: UQ Holder! and Negima!? Blu-Ray Release (OAD's Too!)

Sentai Filmworks announced today that UQ Holder would be getting a Blu-Ray release in November, but in addition, so would the second Negima TV series, Negima!? by Studio Shaft.

UQ Holder will be released with all 12 episodes, with its Japanese dialogue with subtitles and English dub. It will include the same bonuses the Japanese release had (clean openings/endings, Japanese promos, advance screening) but what's most surprising is that the three OAD's for UQ Holder will also be included with the release. Never before have any of the series' OAD's been localized, so this is definitely a welcoming shock.

As stated above, Negima!? will also be re-released on Blu-ray and the Spring & Summer OVA will also be included with the release. There's no word on any special features at this time, but both the original Japanese and English dub will be offered.

Negima!? will release on November 6th and can be pre-ordered now.
UQ Holder! will release on November 27th and you can also pre-order it at this time.

Sentai seems to be putting hope into this series and with UQ Holder's OAD's be included, depending on the sale's, it could very well bode well for Negima's OAD's localization.

Are you excited by this announcement? Planning on buying either? Please do let us know!

Merchandise News: Negima & UQ Holder Bonuses in Bessatsu Shonen Magazine!

Picture
UQ Holder! took the front cover of the August 2018 issue Bessatsu Shonen Magazine, featuring brand new colored character art of Touta and Evangeline. While this itself is pretty neat, this issue also includes various series-related bonuses.

Included is a handout about the Negima stage-play and two slip-covers for UQ Holder volumes 15 and 17. The latter features another alternative cover of Evangeline wearing a bikini on a beach setting, but it's still quite similar to the original art. Volume 15 cover is a bit more interesting. Creator of the series, Ken Akamatsu, had previously spoke on Twitter about volume 15 of UQ Holder and had said it was practically the true final volume to Negima, as it wrapped up various major plot points. Because of this, the other slip-cover features a Negima-styled cover, also bearing the matching logo and volume number of 39.

Of course, these are purely cosmetic and offer no new content, but they're pretty neat nonetheless!

The magazine has already been released, so if you want to add these to your collection, be sure to snag a copy! CDJapan currently has it in stock for 574 yen, but be sure to look around and see if you can find it for cheaper!
Do keep in mind, this is Japan only, so these slip-covers won’t fit over books for most regions.

Are you planning to pick it up? Do you like these new covers? Let us know!

Negima News: Negima Stage Play Announced!

It was recently announced that Negima would be receiving its first stage play adaptation later this summer. In addition, former member of the famous idol group, Nogizaka46, would be cast as the starring role. 22-year-old Rina Ikoma will be playing Negi Springfield. Coincidentally, another former member of Nogizaka46. Yukina Kashiwa. portrayed Negi in the live-action adaption of the series.

I have the privilege to star as the protagonist Negi in the upcoming play 'Mahou Sensei Negima! Okochama Sensei wa Shugyou-chu!' It will be my first play after my graduation from Nogizaka46 and I think it is going to be a big turning point for me. Anyway, I am filled with desire to do the best I can. I am excited to see how we can express the worldview of Mahou Sensei Negima! I am set to play Negi-kun, who is a 10-year-old boy. In terms of appearance, I have 120% confidence to portray Negi-kun that can't be defeated by anyone. I know there are so many fans who have loved the original manga, so I will try to make the play wonderful with the entire company.

--Rina Ikoma

The play, Mahou Sensei Negima! Okochama Sensei wa Shugyou-chu!, or Teacher Child is in Training, is set to premiere on July 12-16 this year at the AiiA 2.5 Theater Tokyo.

So what do you think? Please, let us know!

Merchandise News: Negima! Complete Collection English Blu-Ray Release

Picture
Sentai Filmworks recently listed their newly acquired licensed, Negima!, to their products as a Blu-ray release. This is the first time the series is going to be released on Blu-ray outside Japan.

This release is for the first season and includes both the English subbed version and the dubbed. While subject to change, the artwork is the same as that of the Blu-ray box set released in Japan last year. However, this is a standard release and there's no word whether that box set will make its way overseas.

It releases on September 18th later this year. Sentai Filmworks currently has it priced at at $58.99 and you can currently pre-order it here.

While there's not yet any word of Sentai releasing Negima!? or UQ Holder!, sales may very well determine what they choose to do with the series. If we're being optimistic, it may lead to the OAD series being released outside Japan. So if you would like to support the series, this is your chance.

So what do you think? Are you planning to buy this release sometime in the future? As always, be sure to let us know!

Negima News: Negima Anime Comes to Sentai Filmwork's Catalog

Picture
Sentai Filmworks announced today that Negima would be making its way to their catalog. This would include the first series by Studio XEBEC and the second series by Shaft. These were the only seasons to be released outside Japan and both have received English dubs.

This is rather interesting. Many fans were surprised to hear UQ Holder would be licensed by Sentai, as Negima had been done by Funimation, but it looks like Sentai now has the rights to this series as well. It brings up some questions: did Funimation lose the license to Negima and is it going to disappear from their channels? Will the Spring and Summer OVA be available as well?

With Sentai Filmworks now appearing to have both properties available, it's not out of reach to speculate whether the Blu-ray boxes for both Negima and UQ Holder may or may not find their way overseas.

We'll be sure to cover future updates about this as there are several questions at this point. What do you think about this? Do you believe with this move, the Blu-ray versions of the anime might be released to an English audience? Let us know!

So, what do you think of what's been released so far? Does it look interesting? Planning to try it out? Let us know!

Negima News: Popularity Poll Results!

Picture
As we mentioned before, in celebration of UQ Holder's anime premiere in October of 2017, it was announced on UQ Holder's official website that there would be a poll to determine which girl of Negi's class was truly the most beloved by fans. For the entire 31 days, fans would be able to cast their vote once per day.

It should come to no surprise that the shy bookworm, Nodoka Miyazaki, dominated the charts, consistently in the top during the entire process. The places definitely varied throughout the month, but in the end, swordswoman Setsuna Sakurazaki nabbed second with closeted net idol Chisame Hasegawa claiming 3rd. If you'd like to see a full list of the placements, you can do so here!

It was later announced that the most popular among the class would be receiving the grand prize of a new Pactio Card design, so fans should be able to pick up a new piece of merchandise to add to their collection!

It has yet to be revealed what the new card will be included with (perhaps an upcoming limited edition release of UQ Holder?), but we'll be sure to report back as soon as we know!

So, what did you think of the placements? Did you participate in the poll? As always, feel free to let us know!

Negima News: Negima!? & King x PASELA Cafe Collaboration!

Unlike previous collaborations we've went over, this one has nothing to do with a video game, but food. King Amusement Creative x PASELA Collaboration Cafe featured Negima!? themed food on their menu on a special one-day event yesterday, October 21st.

Not only did they have special drinks relating to the series, but they even had food, such as buns marked with the Chao Bao Zi stamp. You may recognize the name of the menu items, as they are named after the series character songs, which is a neat little extra. Special collectible coasters were also included with drink orders. Patrons were randomly given one out of 32 different designs, featuring the designs of Negi and his class.

This is not the first time the series has collaborated with the cafes and hopefully, it won't be the last!

First, we have the Ken Akamatsu Art Book! Yes, you can finally own a book containing Akamatsu's various works of art over the years, including A.I. Love You, Love Hina, Mahou Sensei Negima, and UQ Holder! Whether it goes into art outside those series is unknown, but if you're a fan of the author, I certainly wouldn't miss it. This book is coming out October 5th.

Next is the UQ Holder Official Guide & Encyclopedia! While not many details have been shared about the book's contents, it should contain various info that was not present in the manga and I have been told it talks a bit more about the factions outside UQ Holder. This is coming out October 6th.

While the newest cover has yet to be revealed, the upcoming issue of Bessatsu Shonen Magazine will be printing and releasing an exclusive pactio card with the volume. This card is going to feature Kuromaru, but unlike the card that was just released, it'll feature the female version of the card! If you're one who collects the cards, you may not want to miss snagging one. The issue is set to release October 7th in Japan.

Lastly, we have special Negima/UQ Holder bookmarks being include in volumes of the manga as promotion for the anime. There are two different kinds, regular and stand-up kinds. We're still working on getting better pictures, but those are available in Japanese stores now.

There's a lot of great stuff coming out and we're excited! Are you looking forward to any of these? Planning on buying any? Please let us know!

It was announced earlier that it was decided the Spring and Summer OVA's would be present in the Blu-ray release. They will be released in BOX II, along side with Shaft's first adaptation, Negima!?

With that, nearly all of Negima's anime will be receiving a Blu-ray release!

In other news, sample images for exclusive bonuses for BOX I have been released. We covered a few stores briefly before, but by ordering the box sets from specific stores, its own unique bonus item is included with it. Each box is going to get its own bonus item, so if you plan on ordering it, make sure you pick the seller with a bonus you want!

Sofmap: A4 Clear File
Gamers: Acrylic Keychain
Animate: Original Promotional Trading Card
Amiami: Phone Card
Chara-ani: B2 Tapestry
Neo-Wing: A4 Portrait
King e-SHOP: Negi & Class Pin Set (Negi and students 1-9)

The designs of the bonuses are not completely finalized, so they may undergo change before the release.
It's interesting that the bulk of the merch used the original DVD designs, with no repeaters, but each item is different. With two more boxes to go and more bonuses, I wonder if cover designs will be repeated.

What's interesting is that though the cards were considered a reprint of the gold foil cards released before, the image instead shows cards lacking the actual gold foil design. Whether this changes in the future is up in the air.

The three CD's contain 39 song sand  feature remastered songs, both from the original anime and the first set of character songs.

Negima News: Negima! Anime Blu-ray Box Set Announced. Gold Foil Pactio Card Reprints!

Picture
It was announced earlier today that Negima’s anime was slated for a blu-ray release in June (in Japan) in celebration of the UQ Holder anime release later in the year. This means the entirety of the anime that was released. The complete set will be separated into three volumes, the first being the original Negima! anime, the second box being Negima!?, and the third by the collection of OAD’s, which were previously released in a blu-ray box set.

The full set will include a CD set containing relevant songs to the series, such as the famous “Happy ☆  Material”. The box and CD sleeve will feature art, presumably featuring Ken’s new art style. Also included is a booklet containing new interviews and more. Lastly, the popular gold foil pactio cards that were previously released with Negima’s vol. 37 manga will be making a reappearance as a reprint and will be separated into the three volumes! Buying all the volumes will earn you an additional bonus item!
Picture
Wow, they’re doing quite a bit to lead up to UQ Holder’s animated release, aren’t they? I know Negima’s anime wasn’t terribly popular among fans, but are you looking forward to this blu-ray box set release, even if it’s for the sake of the goodies it’s bundled with?

If I recall correctly, there’s only supposed to be a set number of these, so it we may only get these new covers for a few more months, but it’s definitely interesting to see a colored version of the Negima cast in this new art style.
So, who do you think will show up next? Anyone you particularly want to see? Have a favorite so far?
