"I was lost, but now I am found." I said as I stared off into the dark endless abyss.
It was the beginning of spring break here at Mahora academy, and it sure was busier then ever! My class, class 3A, were planning to go on a trip to the class president's private island.
I was quite excited, considering I was just the lonely bystander in the class and yet I was still invited. I guess that's the good part about being in a class with interesting people in it.
Ever since I was little I had always been a bystander, I never really got involved in anything. I was indifferent to all of my other classmates. That was until one day, I caught my teacher, Negi Springfield, performing magic and spells! He was fighting against my classmate, Setsuna Sakurazaki, in a powerful sparring match.
That was when Negi-Sensei told me that I couldn't tell anyone. I swore that I wouldn't, but for some reason I some how got dragged into their world. I didn't want to get involved at all, but I some how ended up learning Kendo and martial arts from Setsuna and my other classmate Ku Fei.
I started going on strange journeys and outings with all my other classmates in our little group. The group was called Ala Alba, apparently it was in honor of Negi's father's group, Ala Rubra.
I fought along side my companions, but yet I still felt pretty empty inside. I was still pretty indifferent to my companions, but they knew that they could count on me when they needed it.
As I was lost in thought about how life ended up becoming the way it is now, my comrade, Konoka Konoe, had wrapped a blanket around me shoulders. My gaze turned to where she was, she was smiling at me kindly and I just nodded my head.
"I don't see why people are so nice to me when I don't do anything in return to them." I thought calmly to myself. We were all at Evangeline-San's estate, training our powers and skills.
Sparring each other was one of the simplest ways to do that. Evangeline-San was training Setsuna-San and Asuna-San at the same time. They never seemed to stand a chance, that's probably why I've never tried to battle her before.
I never really sparred anyone, I always just watched, and observed the battles that took place. My acquaintances though, always bugged me to spar someone. The only people
I actually ever sparred with, were Setsuna-San and Ku-San. Both of them always told me how I had gotten better at something. I didn't really believe them, considering they always kicked my ass.
"Hey Noriya! Come over here and battle me! We haven't seen your skills in a long time!" Asuna-San called out to me.
Nodding my head, I picked up my katana and walked over to where the spunky girl stood. As I unsheathed my katana, I took notice to the fact that the others were staring at me.
"Focus Noriya! I know that you can do this!" Setsuna-San shouted to me from the sidelines.
Nonchalantly I nodded my head and clipped my sheath onto my back harness. Grasping my katana into my hand, I swiftly advanced toward Asuna-San and disappeared.
"Huh! Hey! Where'd you go!" The confused girl exclaimed as she looked all over the place. I had reappeared behind Asuna and attacked her back. Asuna though had dodged the attack. The younger girl smiled at me and chuckled.
"You're a lot better then I thought you would have been Noriya!" Asuna-San blurted loudly. I gave her a blank look as I disappeared again and reappeared over Asuna-San's head. My attack was futile once again, but I didn't give up on my little strategy.
"Hmmm Noriya-San is very good at the way of ninja de gozaru." I heard Kaede-San say to Setsuna-San, whom nodded in response. I listened to what they were saying, apparently it was about how well I had progressed in the four months that I had been with Ala Alba.
"This is it." I spoke as I disappeared and reappeared behind and then above Asuna-San. My katana had knocked Asuna-San to the ground and I brought the tip of the blade to her neck. She looked at me in disbelief, she couldn't believe that I had beaten her so easily.
"Holy shit! Noriya! YOU BEAT ME!" Asuna-San exclaimed loudly. As if nothing had happened, I gave her a peace sign and walked over to where my sheath was laying.
Setsuna-San and Kaede-San were praising me on how much I had progressed in such a short amount of time.
Their kind words made me have a weird feeling inside. It made me feel happy, and alive. I started to open up my heart to them, I smiled for the first time in a long time. I truly smiled and was happy to be a part of Ala Alba.
"Hey Noriya! Come over here and eat dinner with us!" Konoka-San shouted to me. I gave her a soft smile, nodded my head and walked over to where my comrades were. No… not my comrades. My friends.
